Make Money Selling on Ebay: What Sold the Week of – August 30-September 5, 2015

make money selling on ebay

Since I’ve been listing a little bit more, my sales have started to pick up some. I also ran a sale over the Labor Day weekend.

I was almost caught up with my backlog and then I went to an auction. It was so much fun and totally worth the hour and 20 minute drive. I have several boxes of items to go through and list for sale. It seems like at least half will go on Ebay and the other half I’ll send to Amazon FBA.

This week I sold a dress on consignment for my mother in law.  I asked the question on a Facebook group that I’m in, “why would anyone sell consignment items when they can source plenty of inexpensive inventory?” Someone mentioned that they would rather have half of a $30 sale than all of a $10 sale. Or something to that effect. Just because I’m able to find inexpensive items, that doesnt mean that they are only selling for a little amount. I will say that I was less picky before about items because I could get them so cheap, but I’ve since stopped buying cheap items and started focusing on purchasing things that will sell for at least $20. I’m still trying to find the benefit of listing items on consignment. So if you have some please let me know.

So on to this week’s sales.

  1. Great job on your Ebay sales! This is motivating me to get started with my store in October. I have a bag of clothes that needs to be listed ASAP! Any tips for someone just starting out with selling on Ebay?

    • Thanks. It’s hard trying to stay focused when you can only list a little at a time. A couple of tips I would you are be sure to check completed listings to see how much items have sold for, take good pics, include measurements, offer returns, weigh items before listing until you get used to selling and you know how much shipping is going to cost and keep listing. I really have noticed that the more I list, the more I sell.
